About Me

From a young age, I discovered my natural ability to listen deeply and empathetically. Friends and family would often come to me with their issues, and I found joy in being that supportive presence.

My innate empathy, compassion, and curiosity inspired me to pursue a career as a therapist, first completing my BA in Psychology at York University, then studying and training at the University of Toronto's Masters of Social Work program and finally, working for the last 10+ years as a psychotherapist.

I believe in lifelong learning, both from my clients and peers. I hold advanced training certificates in several therapeutic modalities and continuously remain up-to-date on the latest evidence-based approaches.

Throughout the years, I have developed my own holistic approach to therapy, incorporating into my style elements of CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, EFT, ACT, and MBSR to name a few. But no matter what, my approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, and I am  committed to providing a safe space for clients to explore their feelings and experiences.

Personalized Care

Each therapy session is tailored to meet your individual needs. My education and training in several different therapies allows me to draw upon varied tools and techniques that can fit each client at their own unique pace, stage of change, and comfort level.

Biopsychosocial Model

All assessments and client care plans are informed by the biopsychosocial model which takes into account the complex interplay of genetic predispositions, early life experiences, beliefs, and social influences.

In addition, my approach incorporates the latest evidence-based care from neuroscience such as the importance of the mind-body connection, vagal nerve stimulation, and the role of the amygdala and the prefrontal cortex in regulating emotions.

Experienced and Nonjudgmental Psychotherapist

In my 10+ years as a psychotherapist, I have worked with a large variety of individuals and couples dealing with all sorts of different issues from everyday worries to major life upheavals; from pornography addiction to open marriages and polyamory, and much more. Therefore, do not be afraid to come as you are - I will not judge and all the information you share is completely confidential.
